Meeting NGOs at Humanity Hub in the Netherlands
MIDES Communication Officer, Matt Luna, took part in the NGO reception on 28 July, “Creating New Futures together with The Hague Non-Governmental and International Organisations.” The event was held at the Humanity Hub in The Hague, NL, an organization (and meeting/office space) that is described on its website as “We facilitate innovation by offering the necessary ingredients for chance encounters, new alliances, inspirational collaborations, and the exchange of technology and knowledge.”
A number of Netherlands-based NGOs are working on water resources and complementary programs to help implement new solutions. One area of potential cooperation with programs such as MIDES is through satellite earth observation. The Space4Good organization presented its programs and capabilities, and the value of remote sensing and innovative desalination was discussed. Interactions with other NGOs included discussions on field work in developing areas, delivery of water resources, and international forums that support cooperation on climate adaptation of natural resources.
