Workshop: Bioelectrochemical Systems Technologies and market implementation – from MIDES
MIDES partner organization Leitat Technological Center will host the workshop “Bioelectrochemical Systems: Key Technologies in the Water-Energy Nexus” on 11 April at its headquarters in Terrassa (Barcelona), Spain. The workshop is designed to highlight the most significant advances in microbial desalination and other progress in Bioelectrochemical System (BES) technologies – with a practical view on future market implementation.
“This will be a real chance to see how BES technologies can reach the market, including strategies on fixing potential bottlenecks that companies may encounter in the first stages,” said workshop organizer Eduard Borràs of Leitat, “The workshop outcomes will useful for audiences including academics, technology transfer actors, water and environmental service industries in general, and public agencies.”
The one-day workshop, as part of MIDES project communications, will provide case studies on BES market implementation; a roundtable discussion on BES as a key technology in a Circular Economy; and a close look at the MIDES components, process, and upcoming pilot. Leaders of the sessions will be from MIDES consortium organizations and others: Leitat, Aqualia, FujiFilm, IMDEA Water Institute, Oncontrol Technologies, SGL Carbon, Sim Tech Simulation Technology, Catalan Water Partnership, GENOCOV-UAB, ISLE Utilities, Lequia-UdG and more. The workshop will follow the MIDES 36-month project General Assembly that takes place at Leitat on 9-10 April.
